Lent, of course, is the Christian season of preparation before Easter. The Lenten season is a time when many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial & spiritual discipline. During these past 6 weeks of self-examination & reflection, Christians who observe Lent typically made a commitment to fast, or to give up something-a habit, such as smoking, watching TV. swearing, or a food or drink, such as sweets, chocolate or coffee. Me? I've given up jumping to conclusions!Today's Shelby's Lenten Luncheon will be held (Thursday) at noon over at the Catholic Church. Ash Wednesday marked the 1st day of Lent, & already we're all looking forward to Easter next Sunday. Happy Easter from the Puffman Blog & hope to see you for lunch today at the Lenten Luncheon!
