WOW! What A Combination!

Schoolmarms & Madams...put that in your pipe & smoke it! I'll be up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby tonight (Tuesday) to read MORE Montana History. We read the introduction last week, & this evening we'll be commencing the 1st chapter of "Beyond Schoolmarms and Madams: Montana Women's Stories," & it looks like another good one. The book's from the Montana Historical Society Press down in Helena, & these historical (& in the case of "madams," look hysterical) stories of Montana women look fascinating. Take, for instance, Helen...she was a switchboard operator at Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park back in 1925! Happy 4th, & I'll see you this evening at 6 for more Montana History at the Heritage. It's my understanding that the Heritage Center residents are NOT allowed fireworks, so my thought is that I'll invite them to sit around & "POP" their knuckles out on the patio after we're done reading tonight.
