Today, June 21st, marks the 1st day of summer here in our Golden Triangle & how about doing some "armchair traveling" by takeing a trip to a cool & mesmerizing lake? I'm blogging about "Butternut Lake." New York Times & USA bestselling author Mary McNear is here(!) & will be my special guest this afternoon at 4:35 on the Puffman Show. Mary has introduces us to Butternut lake, a town based on Mary's lifetime of summers spent in a small lake in the northern Midwest. In her new book in the Butternut Lake series, "The Light in Summer," it's vacation time on Butternut Lake, where the heat of noon is soothed by the cool breezes of evening, the pace grows slower, & sometimes, just sometimes, the summer light makes everything clearer. I read the 1st book in the series a few years back & I'm hooked on them. Personally I feel this is Mary's BEST yet! I agree with new York Times-bestselling author, Susan Wiggs who warbles, "Butternut Lake is so beautifully rendered, you'll wish it was real!" I wish it WAS real & I can't wait for Mary to write her next one in the series. She's one of the best writers I've come across in years. See you later this afternoon with Mary McNear & "The Light in Summer." Be sure & check out the book...it just hit the bookstores nationwide & why not check out the entire Butternut Lake series. GREAT reading for GUARANTEED!
