KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week this past weekend continued their already amazing seasons on the wrestling mat and the hardwood. Female Athlete of the Week honors go to Choteau So. Miley Crabb who won the 107-pound Championship at the Malta Invitational over the Weekend.  Crabb won all four of her matches by pin in a total time of 4:29, just a little over a minute on the average for each opponent. Choteau Head Coach Chuck DeBoo says, "she has been pretty consistent all year long, but the Malta Tournament was her most solid performance overall," and with the 26 points earned, Choteau won the Girls Championship. Miley has built a 27-8 record this season and will go into this weekend's Divisional Tournament as the #2 seed.

Our Male Athlete of the Week will be given his 4th award of the year after being named 3 times in Football. CJI Jr. Nate Nelson was singled out for what Hawks Coaches called "two terrific defensive games against Big Sandy and Shelby. While the teams' stat format doesn't show steals, he had many and a fair share that turned into points at the other end.  Assistant Coach Brad Kammerzell said "Nate is as disruptive on the defensive end as anyone in the area." With that said, it doesn't mean he is shy of offensive skills, from the point guard, distributing the ball and running the offense."   Nate put up 13-points in the Big Sandy win and 16 against Shelby.   He's one of the shorter guys on the court normally but he still averaged 3 rebounds per game.

We also had a nomination this week for the brother duo of Justice and Rusch Yeager who combined for 35 pointes against Chinook.  Also, two Choteau Wrestlers, who both won Championships in Malta.  Perry Bechtold, a Sr. at 170-pounds and Asher Clayton a Jr. at 126.  Asher we're told is a transfer this year from Alaska where he won a State Championship last year and went 37-0.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, So. Miley Crabb of Choteau and Jr. Nate Nelson of CJI.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
