OUR FIRST KSEN/K96—BOZEMAN TROPHY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK OF THE SPRING SEASON WAS A TWO-EVENT WINNER AT THE MONTANA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO EVENT AT EXPOPARK IN GREAT FALLS LAST WEEKEND. IT WASN’T THE BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR BUT STILL, SR. OLIVIA GRIMSELY OF POWER HAD TO HOLD OFF ABOUT 30 COMPETITTORS FROM ACROSS THE STATE IN BOTH THE BARREL RACING AND THE POLE BENDING. GRIMSLEY IS HOPING FOR A BIG YEAR IN THE HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS BEFORE BECOMING PART OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA RODEO PROGRAM NEXT FALL. RODEO APPEARS TO BE HER PASSION BUT GRIMSLEY ALSO COMPETED 4 YEARS ON THE POWER VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND SHE’S AN EXCELLENT STUDENT WITH A 3.8 GPA AND PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY. IN ADDITION TO THE RODEO EVENTS, GRIMSLEY HAS BEEN AN O-MOK-SEE COMPETITOR FOR YEARS AND HAS WON ON THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVELS.   SHE ALSO DEVOTES MUCH OF HER TIME TO HELPING EDUCATE YOUNGER CHILDREN ON THE SPORT OF RODEO.
