Our KSEN/K96-- Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week flirted with a State Record and shot an amazing nine-hole round on a rain-soaked golf course.

Female Athlete of the Week honors go to CJI's outstanding Freshman Athlete Brynn Kammerzell.  Brynn was best among the Top 8 at the Cascade Invitational last week in the High Jump, but the #1 finish wasn't really the biggest part of the story. The State All-Class record in the girls High Jump is 5'9.5" and has been in place since 1983 by Kari Shepherd of Helena High.   Once Kammerzell cleared 5'6.5" you can bet that fans and coaches started the buzz about a state record.  The jump was also just a foot away from a CJI School record. Brynn Kammerzell was an All-State Basketball player and an All-State Volleyball player and as just a freshman, the future looks bright.

Male Athlete of the Week honors go to Choteau Jr. Kellen Meyer who shot a one over par 37 Monday on a rainy day in Glasgow to win the Northern B Divisional Championship.  As it turned out, the 2nd nine was cancelled Tues due to even worse weather. Kellen had just come off an excellent round of 79 in Cut Bank Saturday and finished 2nd at the Cut bank Invitational behind Conrad's Christean Habets.  Despite the 2nd place finish there, Kellen has been the overall top golfer in the Northern Division this season.  He won the Choteau Invitational with a 74 earlier this year and he was the area's top finisher from the region in Last year's State Tournament with rounds of 85-76 and a 10th place finish at Marias Valley, where the State Tournament is again this year starting Tues. next week.

Congratulations to or KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, CJI Freshman Brynn Kammerzell, and Choteau Jr. Kellen Meyer.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
