We switch from the golf course to the track for this week’s KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week.

Our female Athlete of the Week is battling, it seems, with her own teammate as much as anyone for top honors in individual events and team points. Just a sophomore, Eleace Shaw from Conrad, piled up some big points in both the Cut Bank Booster Invitational and then the Pre-Easter Invitational in Cut Bank. Shaw finished 2nd in the Cut Bank Booster meet, right behind teammate Taylor Evans, in the 100m dash. She won the Long Jump, ran in the winning Conrad 400-relay event and took a second in the High Jump. The Conrad girls won the team championship in that meet. She played a part in 36 points. At the Pre-Easter invitational, Shaw had total point production of 21 with a 2nd in the High Jump, 2nd on the Conrad 400-relay team, 4th in the 100m dash and 6th in the Long Jump. Conrad Head Coach Jim Carroll says pretty darn good start for his Sophomore Athlete.

Our Male Athlete of the Week didn’t gather as many points but as consistent as you can get. Jr. Jeremy Bockus of Browning had convincing wins in the Easter Invitational, in the 800 and 1600m and that was after wins in both of those events and a 4th on Browning’s 400 relay team in the Cut Bank Booster Club Invitational.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week, So. Eleace Shaw of Conrad and Jr. Jeremy Bockus of Browning. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
