KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy athletes of the week had big weeks on the softball field and the track in the past week.

Our male athlete of the week has been piling up the points for Cut Bank since the beginning of the season and kept the pile going at meets in cut bank and then Choteau last week. Junior, Bauer Seewald competes in a lot of events and usually finishes near the top in most all of them. He is currently 5th best in the all-class state rankings in the high jump with a personal best of 6’2”. In the Cut Bank quad last week, Seewald finished 2nd in the high jump behind only Rhett Reynolds of Shelby who currently has the third best jump at 6’4” he also picked up a win in the triple jump, and a 2nd in the long jump. At the more competitive Choteau invitational Saturday, Bauer was 3rd in the high jump, 4th in the long jump, 2nd in the triple jump and had a 7th place finish in the highly competitive 200m, for a total of 18 Cut Bank team points.

Our female athlete as they say is knocking the cover off the ball for the Conrad Cowdogs softball team. Sophomore catcher Katie Stokes is not only hitting for average with a .542 currently, she is also hitting for power with two homeruns, three triples and a double. Maybe most impressive of all is the .667 on base percentage with 17 runs scored. Add to that 12 RBIs and you have a lot of offensive firepower. Stokes also mans’ a key position as the Cowdogs catcher. Head coach Tyson Anderson says she really works hard, blocks the ball and makes good plays with runners coming to the plate.
