Athlete of the Week
KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week are both from Conrad this week where athlete’s are having much success in Golf, Track and softball.
Our Male Athlete of the Week for the 2nd time this spring is Cowboy Sr. Jarek Shepherd. Heading into next week’s Divisional at Marias Valley, Jarek continues to impress and put forth his best effort of the season last weekend in Choteau.
Golfers always like to say it could have been better and that appears that was the case here as Shepherd birdied 4 straight holes on 8,9,10 & 11. That put him at 5-under par thru 11 holes. We’re told that already strong winds, really kicked on the back 9 and it does tend to have an effect. But, it was a round of 68 and again Jarek’s best performance yet.
Our Female Athlete of the Week is among a talented group of young sprinters in Conrad who have consistently won the 400-relay at meets all season. They have the 5th best time in Class B currently. Among the fastest in that group is Freshman Taylor Evans.
At the Cascade Top 12 meet earlier this week, Evans not only showed her speed with a 2nd in the 100m, 4th in the 200m and a win with the relay tea. But that’s not all, she won the long jump and the Triple Jump where Conrad took at 1-2-3.
Prior to the Top 12 meet, at the Fairfield-Belt Invitational last Sat. Evans was 2nd in the 100m, 5th in the 200m , 2nd in the relay, 2nd in the Long Jump and 1st in the Triple Jump. Her personal best in the 100m 12.83, is a top 15, All-Class in the State.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete’s of the Week, Sr. Jarek Shepherd of Conrad, and Fr. Taylor Evans of Conrad. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our Athlete’s with two free value meals each.
Congratulations to our 2021 Athlete’s of the Year, named Wed. night, Jr. Rhett Reynolds of Shelby and Sr. Christine Funk of Choteau.
