(SHELBY) – Our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week has transitioned into a new and critical position for his Sr. season and so far he gets a big thumbs up from Head Coach Mike White.

Trenton Emerson, an outstanding Football and Basketball player has, according to Coach White, “done an outstanding job so far this season at the QB position.” Emerson has led the Coyotes to a 2-0 start and was pivotal, along with two teammates, in stopping the passing game against Circle in a come from behind win.”

Emerson is throwing the ball well and is also a talented runner who rushed for 51 yards and 1TD in the Circle game and 75 yards in the Harlem game. He has really had two big games passing with 187 yards and 3 touchdowns against Circle and then 126 yards and 1 TD against Harlem.

On the defense, he is filling the Outside Linebacker position and has 17 tackles and 2 interceptions in the first two games.

Also nominated this week, CJI Quarterback Braden Mattson who had 11 rushes for 115 yards and 2 Td’s and 12 tackles, with 4 for a loss in CJI’s win over Bainville.
