(Undated) – Our KSEN / K96 – Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week put up some impressive numbers and clinched a 1-point victory for his team. A second athlete who was nominated scored in just about every way imagineable.

Athlete of the Week honors go to CJI Sr. QB Braden Mattson who was also nominated earlier this year.  One of just two Sr’s, Mattson has done an excellent job leading the Hawks to a 4-1 record including the 1-point homecoming victory over Highwood last weekend.

Mattson combined for over 200 yards of offense with 16 carries for 124 yards on the ground and went 8-12 passing for 106 yards and 2 TD’s.  Healso wound up on the receiving end of a Touchdown pass for 38 yards.

And in 6-man football, open field tackling is critical and Mattson got the job done there also with 11 solo tackles. In addition to all of that an interception late in the game, according to Head Coach Jim Vinson, “sealed the one-point victory.

We also had a nomination for Kenai Castorena a Jr. on the Power/Dutton/ Brady football team.  How did Castorena score 6 Touchdowns……let us count the ways….a TD reception, a 60-yard kickoff return, a 35 yard fumble return, a 45-yard punt return, a 75-yard interception return and why not, a 40-yard TD pass.  Quite unique indeed!

Congratulaltions to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week, Sr. Braden Mattson of the CJI Hawks.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald’s in Cut Bank.  McDonald’s honors our athlete’s with two free value meals.

We encourage fans, coaches and parents to nominate at Athlete of the Week when you believe they have had an exceptional performance.  E-mail markdaniels@townsquaremedia.com
