FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS GO TO CUT BANK JR. JAZMINE SPOTTED BEAR. CUT BANK GIRLS COACH BRANDON KAVANAGH MADE US AWARE THAT JAZMINE WAS PLAYING THE SAT. GAME AGAINST CHOTEAU IN AN EMOTIONAL STATE AS SHE HAD JUST LEARNED MOMENTS BEFORE THE GAME THAT HER GREAT GRANDMOTHER HAD PASSED AWAY. OUR CONDOLENCES.
AND THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE ONLY FACTOR IN THE BIG PERFORMANCE. COACH KAVANAGH SAYS HE HAD JUST HAD THE CONVERSATION WITH JAZMINE AFTER THE ROCKY BOY GAME ABOUT MAYBE GETTING MORE SHOTS AWAY, AND SHE HERSELF HAD THAT FEELING THAT SHE NEEDED TO SCORE MORE TO HELP THE TEAM
AND SCORE SHE DID, A CAREER NIGHT WITH 22 IN THE WIN OVER CHOTEAU, 9 OF THOSE POINTS IN THE 4TH QTR.
THE JR. POINT GUARD ADDED 5 REBOUNDS AND 5 STEALS IN THE CHOTEAU GAME AND EVEN THOUGH THE SCORING WASN’T THERE THE NIGHT BEFORE, SHE HAD 6 STEALS IN THE ROCKY BOY GAME THE NIGHT BEFORE. JAZMINE IS A 2ND YEAR STARTER AND WAS AN ALL-CONFERENCE PICK IN VOLLEYBALL.
