Voter turnout totals in Toole County appear to be approaching record numbers.    As of mid-afternoon, among the 6-precincts in Shelby...2224 voters had been at the polls.   Registered voters by Monday afternoon was approximately 2,731 and quite a few of those registered voters are labeled as inactive, but even using that number the percentage of voters would be around 81-percent.  I can't recall the last time that many voters cast there ballot here in my 30 years of covering elections.

One example is the largest Shelby precincts where 15-hundred voters were registered and by 3 p.m. over 13-hundred had voted.   That includes absentee ballots.   Obviously a lot of interest in the election and we'll have full coverage tonight on KSEN and K96 FM.
