As we reported in the news Sunday, we are entering the last two months of the campaign season, yet a lot of voters are just now tuning in to what the candidates for major office are saying, and are just now finding out who is running for local offices. To help you gain information, statewide groups have scheduled a number of debates in the races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and governor. None of the debates are local, but as you will see on the following list published by the Helena Independent Record, many will be broadcast on television.

Governor’s race

Sept. 18: Helena, Helena Middle School auditorium, 7 p.m.

Sept. 27: Butte, Montana Tech auditorium, 7 p.m.

Oct. 2: Billings, Petro Theatre, MSU-Billings campus, 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 10: Missoula, KUSM studios, 7 p.m. (televised statewide by Montana Public Broadcasting)

Oct. 17: Kalispell, Flathead Valley Community College, 7 p.m.

Oct. 26: Great Falls, Heritage Inn, 4:15 p.m. (televised on KFBB, KRTV)

Oct. 27: Bozeman, Riverside Country Club, 9 p.m. (televised Montana News stations in Billings, Missoula, Butte, Helena, Bozeman, Kalispell and Great Falls)

U.S. Senate

Oct. 8: Billings, Petro Theatre, MSU Billings campus, 7 p.m. (televised on Montana Public Broadcasting)

Oct. 14: Kalispell, Flathead Valley Community College, time TBA.

Oct. 20: Bozeman, Riverside Country Club, 9 p.m. (televised on Montana News stations statewide)
