Experience Keeps A Dear School
We'll be flashing back to February 1911, tonight (Tuesday) during Montana History up at the Heritage Center. We're very close to wrapping up our current read, "Stump Town to Ski Town: The Story of Whitefish, Montana." Speaking of the Whitefish schools back in yesteryear,.how about Dorcas Ferguson? Dorcas had been appointed the FIRST Whitefish school librarian in January of 1911, & 3 months later in in March, it was agreed to pay her $5.00 a month for her service! Don't worry about a thing...Dorcas later became the FIRST graduate of Whitefish High School in 1914! Let's give a shout out to DORCAS! We'll do that & more this evening at 6 o'clock SHARP when I read & share more Montana History at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. I'm looking forward...
