Guided Rock Art Hike This Saturday @ The Park
First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park's hosting another one of their popular guided rock art hikes this Saturday, from 10 to noon. The park's located 3.5 miles north of Ulm, off I-15, exit 70. They're in their "winter hours" of operation right now, open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10 to 4, Sundays from noon until 4, closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. This Saturday, a daring First Peoples Buffalo Jump ranger will lead a guided hike to the pictographs & petroglyphs found on the park cliffs, & you'll have an opportunity to learn about 2 distinctive methods for producing rock art found in the area, along with the symbolism & meaning behind the art. Reservations are required, but don't worry about a thing...the cost for Saturday's program's only $4, & they'll have 20 spots available for this strenuous off-trail hike along the cliffs. For questions and/or more information, contact First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park, at 866 2217. Admission to the park's FREE for Montana residents, non-residents pay $8.
