It’s Called A “Tow Plow”
The Montana Department of Transportation has deployed a new "Tow Plow" for I-15 north AND south of Shelby. Don't worry about a thing...this tow plow rig is a steerable trailer-mounted plow that's pulled BEHIND the snowplow truck. The plow can be rotated to 1 side of the truck, thus doubling the plow width of the truck. This allows the snowplow operator to move snow safely from TWO lanes of roadway in ONE pass!! The bottom line here is, drivers in the area should SLOW DOWN & STAY BEHIND the snowplow. Please allow at least FIVE lengths between your vehicle & the plow. Always bear in mind that the road BEHIND the plow is the SAFEST place to drive. Exercise any & all caution & stay warm...
