Montana’s Marketplace Deals: Too Good or Too Sketchy?

I can't tell you how many times I open up Facebook on a daily basis, but I do know that more than half of those are to check out what is on Facebook Marketplace.

Being as cheap as I am, I love being able to get some great deals, but lately I've been noticing some deals that are too good to be true.

Bozeman Buyer Scammed for $4,000—Are You Next?

I thoroughly enjoy shopping on sites like Facebook Marketplace or Poshmark, as it helps me reduce my consumption and saves some money.

You have to be smart, though, when shopping, as there have been plenty of frauds popping up lately.

Someone down in Bozeman just got scammed out of almost $4,000 recently in a shipping container scam that is showing up all over America.

Don’t Let a Deal Dump Your Wallet

It's not just in Montana that this is happening, as a news station from Texas reports that they are also seeing an increase in these types of scams.

The scammer will offer a shipping container or dumpster for a low, low price; they'll then sell it to their victim, at which time they'll call the company that provides these services and use the victim's name.

Later the company sees they haven't been paid yet, contacts the victim, and asks for their money, at which point it's on the victim to sue the scammer to get their money back.

So the next time you see a deal that's too good to be true, it probably is.

STOP Sharing THESE Facebook POsts. They’re all SCAMS!
