She Wanted One Bunny, Now She Runs a Montana Sanctuary
One Montana Girl's Pet Bunny Started Something Much Bigger
If you're a parent, you know how often your kids ask for some sort of pet.
However, most parents probably don't expect that one pet to eventually turn into a full-blown animal rescue.

Her First Bunny Was Just The Beginning Of A Montana Rabbit Rescue
That's what happened with one 11-year-old girl from Columbus who just wanted a pet bunny, but now runs a sanctuary for more than a dozen rabbits.
Lette Richardson started "Floppy Jump Sanctuary," which takes in bunnies that have either been abused or surrendered by their previous owners across Montana.
The whole thing started when Lette wanted a pet bunny. According to KTVQ, she did hours of research to convince her parents that she was capable of taking care of one.
All that research has certainly paid off. Lette became very knowledgeable about bunny behavior, and before long, that one bunny turned into dozens.
This 11-Year-Old Is Raising Money To Help Rescue Rabbits
The idea for "Floppy Jump Sanctuary" grew after Lette learned that every Easter, plenty of bunnies are bought as gifts, only for the kids to eventually get bored with them or for the rabbits to become too much work. Some of those bunnies are eventually abandoned.
Today, Lette attends youth business fairs, where she sells handmade crafts and collects donations. The money she makes goes directly toward things like food, treats, vaccinations, and getting the rabbits spayed or neutered.
In my opinion, I think it's pretty impressive for an 11-year-old to see a problem and then say, "Well, I guess I'll do something about that."
