Grocery Stores People Want To See In Montana

Anytime people start talking about new businesses opening in Great Falls or anywhere else in Montana, the conversation usually turns into a list of what we do not have instead of what we already do.

Sure, everyone loves to bring up Olive Garden or Red Lobster, but another topic that comes up all the time is grocery stores.

Grocery Stores Are A Big Topic

Now before anyone jumps in and says we already have plenty of places to buy groceries, we know that. Some of the stores people mention they want are already in other Montana towns.

I think that is exactly why these names keep popping up. When we travel to those places and see the options they have, it makes you wish we had the same thing back home.

So what grocery stores do I hear mentioned over and over again, especially here in Great Falls?

This one gets name-dropped a lot. Part of that might be because they are already listed as the owner of the old Shopko building, which has people hoping they show up sooner rather than later. So far, though, there is still no word on when they might open.

Trader Joe’s

Montana is still one of the few states without a Trader Joe’s, but that has not stopped people from trying to will it into existence. If I had to guess which Montana town would get one first, my money would be on Bozeman.

This one gets mentioned a little less, but the people who know Aldi really want it here. Since they mostly sell their own brands, prices stay low. It might not be fancy, but it would be affordable.
