Sure, we've had a few warm days, but we haven't really hit that stretch where it feels like you're walking into an oven every time you step outside. Of course, we all know that can change in a hurry.

The nice thing about Montana is that even when we do get a heat wave, it usually doesn't stick around too long, and we're often spared the humidity that much of the country has to deal with.
The truth is, no two Montana summers are ever the same. Some years we catch a break with cooler weather, while others bring stretches of hot, dry days that get old fast.
That got us wondering which July was actually the hottest on record.
Stacker, using data from the National Centers for Environmental Information, looked back at every July since 1895 to find the years with the highest average temperatures.

The surprising part? Even the hottest average July temperature on record never cracked 80 degrees.
