If there is one thing I have learned in my quarter of a century living in Montana, it is that Montana residents LOVE Montana.

While we might love the Big Sky state, what do residents in other states think about us, or do they even think about us at all?

Is Montana One Of The Most Hated States In America?

The website Zippa took hate and turned it into a science by looking at a recent Gallup poll that showed the percentage of residents in each state who said they hated their state the most.

They also looked at states that had a population decline, plus what other states say they hate a certain other state the most.

With those 3 metrics, they were able to determine the most hated state in America is Illinois, while not one state said they hate Colorado. But where did Montana land on their rankings?

Turns Out Montana Is Well Liked By Other States

When it comes to other states hating on Montana, they really don't, it seems.

Montana came in ranked #48 of the most hated states, which also means it's the 3rd least hated state in America.

Either we're doing something right here in the Treasure State, or we're just an afterthought to most other states.
