
Montana Law Enforcement Identify Victim Found Dead in Freezer
I've said it before and I'll say it again: first responders never fully know what they're showing up for and have to be ready for anything.
This past Saturday afternoon, authorities in Cut Bank responded to a horrific scene and have since caught the suspect responsible. Now, law enforcement is releasing details about this cold-blooded crime.
Deceased Person Found in Glacier County
Authorities responded to a call this past Saturday afternoon and were notified that a deceased person may have been found. When they responded, they came across a tragic scene.
"On Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Glacier County Deputies were notified of a possible deceased person located in a freezer in the basement of a residence in Cut Bank, Montana," a press release said, "Deputies notified officers with the Cut Bank Police Department, and law enforcement responded to the residence."

"Upon arrival, deputies and officers located a deceased adult female inside the freezer."
Authorities identified the deceased individual as Cerenity Marie Shawl, a 36-year-old from Cut Bank.
The Cut Bank Police Department along with the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation began immediately investigating and according to the Glacier County Sheriff's Office, "the cause of death was determined to be a single gunshot wound to the head."
Authorities say that the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
"The Glacier County Sheriff's Office extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Cerenity Marie Shawl during this difficult time," officials said in the press release.

Law enforcement have the homicide suspect Alfred Joseph Smith in custody following his arrest on Monday and are also questioning Natasha Siliezar, who was accompanying Smith during the search.
