2 Montana Towns Named Most Affordable in New Survey

At some point over the last several years, I have come to hate vacations.  Not so much the vacation itself, but the fact that it ends.  I think after a certain age it becomes a thing.  You don't want that fun to end and maybe start having the "retirement" discussion with your spouse.

Two Montana Towns Named Most Affordable to Retire In

A new survey released by Worthly indicates that we need to look to two places in Montana for the most affordable to retire in.  The first listed is Livingston, MT.  Odd for me since it was the first place I applied for a broadcast job nearly 40 years ago!

The second most affordable town for retirement in Montana?  Never would have this town come up in our discussions.  But according to Worthly, the compass needs to point to Darby, MT.

Nestled towards the end of the Bitterroot Valley in southwestern Montana, the town holds 783 people as of the 2020 Census.  Reasons for the retirement pluses include:

  • Slower pace of life
  • Fishing, hiking and horseback riding
  • Attractive price tag
  • Authentic Montana experience
