Historical Society Looking for the Best Place in Montana
We all know that Montana is home to breathtaking views. And it can either be from the top of a mountain near Glacier or Yellowstone National Parks; or possibly the wide-open plains showing the vastness of the Big Sky we all enjoy each day.
But to choose the best of those? It's a colossal challenge to attempt to narrow it down to just one. But the Montana Historical Society (MHS) in Helena is doing just that and want everyone across the state to join in and help pick the best of the best of Montana.

Historical Society Looking for the Best Place in Montana
MHS has selected sixteen different sites across the state from the new release entitled "A History of Montana - A 101 Places" book they just published. Selections were made during the Society's annual Montana History Conference.

The sites cover the six main tourism areas of the state:
- Central Montana
- Glacier Country
- Missouri River Country
- Southeast Montana
- Southwest Montana
- Yellowstone Country
Selections from those include the First Peoples Buffalo Jump, Going to the Sun Road, Fort Peck Dam, Lewis and Clark Caverns and the Three Forks of the Missouri.
How to Vote for the Best of the Best in MHS's Montana Madness Bracket
This is the second year the Montana Historical Society has offered the bracket and are excited about this year's topic. Martha Kohl, outreach and education program manager for the MHS said "Montana has no shortage of extraordinary places, and we think Montanans will have a strong opinion about which one deserves the top spot. We can't wait to see how this plays out".
Voting is now open through the society's website here. You may vote once per day, per device for your favorite throughout the contest. The bracket will be narrowed each week until a final winner is announced.
