As I was doom scrolling, I ran across something that concerned me enough to drop what I was doing and make a phone call.

It was on the Local Lewistown Montana Page on Facebook and it said something like Eddie's Corner is closing their restaurant due to lack of staff. They might try and reopen in the spring. (It's important to check information before posting on the internet, but more on that later.)

The Montana Internet is having a field day with this post.

So I did what any good Montanan would do, I called Eddie's Corner.

Is Eddie's Corner Closing For The Winter?

No, but kind of yes. The restaurant will be closing for the winter. The fella on the phone didn't mention why. On the internet, it says staffing issues.

On a separate Facebook page, there's a picture of a note that's on the door at Eddie's Corner and it says:

To Our Valued Customers: Effective Monday, November 10; due to staffing shortage, our cafe will be closed for the winter. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will have good food in the hot case as well as the cold case. We will also have our chili and soup available. Thank you for your loyalty!

Eddie's Corner will not have their restaurant open for the winter, but the store, the casino, the gas pumps, and the hotel will be open.

It's Important To Research Before Spreading Rumors

So the person in the first post I saw did update it to say "for the winter". When I had seen the post initially, it said just that Eddie's Corner was closing their restaurant.

It wasn't that hard to find out the truth. I literally called Eddie's Corner and asked them. So now, let's spread the actual word.

The restaurant at Eddie's Corner will be closed for the winter.
