How To Decorate For Thanksgiving For Free
According to Martha Stewart, your holiday can be cozy and cute and it won't cost you a dime.
- Foraged Fall Tree Branches In A Jar: This easy to make arrangement can be made even more interesting by cutting the branches to different lengths, get as many colors of leaves as possible and maybe fill the vase with things like pinecones, acorns and other loose foliage
- Foraged Foliage Wreath: At the same time you're gathering supplies for your centerpiece, grab a few extras so that you can also make a wreath for the season. Start with a wire hanger or grapevine if you have one left over in your crafting supplies, then go from there
- Pinecone Centerpiece: While foraging, get extra pine cones, pine branches, leaves, maybe even some whole nuts from last holiday season and put them in trays (Martha says in odd numbers for balance) for that cozy holiday feeling
- Fall Leaves As Place Cards: Find the cutest whole leaves you can. Using a white pen or metallic marker add names and make their place setting even more festive and welcoming
- Cluster Candles: Round up all of your different sized and colored candles and put them together in a cluster with some of the wonders you've been foraging. Putting them on a tray or in a dish will elevate this cluster to holiday status
- Pressed Leaf Garland: Press some leaves with a heavy book and string your very own fall garland
- Make Produce Decor: For the holiday, any fruit that doesn't make it to dinner can be used as a clever and very timely centerpiece. Especially nice are oranges, pomegranates, grapes, squash, any pretty produce you have on hand. Arrange them in a special bowl or maybe on a cutting board or mirror garnished with leaves and greens you've foliaged.
- Forage Your Centerpiece: Find old jars, vases, bowls, boards, whatever you like, and arrange all of the beautiful fall treasures you've foraged into a one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving centerpiece
- Layer On The Cozy: Take blankets, scarves, tablecloths, wrapping paper, or any festive thing you already have and layer on the cozy. You can make a cozy and relaxing statement just by placing these things strategically on chairs, sofas, beds and more
