One of the biggest complaints from locals regarding Montana is that the wealthy continue to come in and buy up property, changing the state from what it has always been and transforming it into their personal playground.

Case in point, the Yellowstone Club.

Well, if you have issues with that, you're really going to have an issue with what is happening now. One of Montana's most beloved landmarks is getting ready to get worked over and according to reports, its by the same group that is behind the Yellowstone Club and the Crazy Mountain Ranch.

So, what Montana landmark is next?

According to reports, up next, is Flathead Lake. Discovery Land Co. is currently building a dock at the lake, but that's not all. They plan to continue the development and already have a name for it.

Territory 1889 Golf and Lake Club. Oh, and by the way, Discovery Land Co. seem to be the same folks behind the Yellowstone Club and the Crazy Mountain Ranch.

What are they building at Flathead Lake?

So, what does this development look like? According to the Missoulian, you can expect a marina, a private club, a 359 home development, 2 golf courses, plus restaurants and retail space. All of this is supposed to take place on a 1700 acre plot of land.

As you can imagine, most folks aren't happy about this. They see it as another way the rich are coming in and ruining the Treasure State. But is that the case? What about the jobs that will come from the development? What about the tax dollars it will bring to the local community?
