
The Best Small Town Cafe’s In Montana
On a recent trip to Helena, I was able to grab a bite to eat at Shellie's Country Cafe.
The beloved restaurant is open 24 hours and has all of the classic dishes you would expect, including one of the best pieces of Sour Cream and Raisin Pie I've ever had. It got me thinking a bit about all of those small town cafe's throughout Montana.

I'm talking about the kind of place where folks gather not only to eat, but to hear about what's happening around town. The kind of place where the waitress knows your name and your order. A place were the retired gentleman of the community get together and have coffee together each morning.
Of course, not all small town cafe's are in small towns.
I live in Bozeman and one of the most popular spots for locals and those visiting is The Western Cafe. The Western has been around for decades and while it's nothing fancy, it feels like a Montana Cafe. The food is good, there's plenty of it, and it's just the type of place that not only feeds the body, but feeds the soul as well.
