Our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week turned in State Champion performances in Tennis and Track and Field last weekend.
Male Athlete of the Week honors go to Cut Bank senior Dallas Berkram who ended his H.S. career with a State Championship in Tennis after suffering thru an otherwise disappointing senior year which saw him break a bone in his foot to end his football season and a torn meniscus that ended his basketball season. Not to be denied in his final H.S. Sport, Dallas won his 1st round match against a Valley Christian opponent.  Winning the 1st set 6-0, he had to wait until the next morning to finish due to a rain delay and he got the victory on a 10-8 tie breaker. In the Semi's, Dallas was able to get by Sawyer from Simms to make it to the Championship.  In that Championship match he was up against a player, Olander Biork of Valley Christian who he had never beaten.  He got the first set easy enough at 6-1, but lost the 2nd set 0-6.  That's do or die time and Dallas pulled it out 10-6 to win the State Title.
We also had nominations this week for Dane Grammar, CJI, who won his 2nd straight State Championship in the Shot put and won the Title in the Discus.  Also, Tanner Vick, our Athlete of the Week, a week ago.  Tanner won the State Championship in the Pole Vault with an amazing 14-foot vault, and he finished 4th in both hurdle events.
Speaking of the Pole Vault, our Female Athlete of the Week came thru with a State Championship as well in the Pole Vault.  Jr. Ava Krings, who has been at or near the top of that event all season long, vaulted 10'3" to take the #1 spot in the State.  Previously this season, Ava broke the Conrad school record, held by Breauna Erickson at 11'0".  Ava vaulted 11'6" winning the Divisional Championship. Krings also finished 7th best in the State in the 100m hurdles.
Congratulations to our final KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week for the season, Sr. Dallas Berkram of Cut Bank and Jr. Ava Krings of Conrad. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonalds' honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
