LISTEN LIVE: Bobcats Host UC-Davis Saturday in FCS Semi-Final

BOZEMAN — In the last home football game of the calendar year, the Montana State University Bobcats will host the University of South Dakota Coyotes with a spot in the national championship game on the line. The Football Championship Subdivision semifinal game in Bobcat Stadium will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Montana State finished the regular season as Big Sky Conference champions and earned a first-round playoff bye. They then defeated the University of Tennessee, Martin on Dec. 7 by a score of 49-17 in the playoffs’ second round and the University of Idaho Vandals on Dec. 13 by a score of 52-19 in the quarterfinal.

    The USD Coyotes beat the University of California, Davis last week in their quarterfinal game by a score of 35-21. MSU and USD last met on Oct. 17, 2009 — a game the Bobcats won in overtime, 31-24.

    The winner of Friday’s game will advance to the FCS championship in Frisco, Texas, on Monday, Jan. 6. They will play the winner of the semifinal game between the No. 2 North Dakota State Bison and No. 3 South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
