(CUT BANK) – A KALISPELL WOMAN WHO WANTS TO OPEN UP A STORE FRONT MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY IN CUT BANK MADE SURE THAT CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS HAD THE INFORMATION THEY NEEDED BEFORE MAKING A DECISION.

RENE TYREE LYNCH SENT PACKETS TO THE COUNCIL WITH INFORMATION ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA.     DURING DISCUSSION ON THE MATTER AT TUES. NIGHTS COUNCIL  MEETING, COUNCIL MEMBERS SAID THEY WOULD LIKE TO HEAR PUBLIC COMMENTS BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION ON THE MATTER.

AND IN LIGHT OF THAT, THE COUNCIL HAS SCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMENT TO BE HEARD AT THEIR 1ST MEETING IN FEBRUARY.   AT THAT TIME, A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE NORTHERN ROCKIES MEDICAL CENTER WILL ALSO SPEAK ON THE ISSUE.

IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA BUSINESS, THE CITY WOULD HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES TO THEIR BUSINESS LICENSING PROCESS AND PASS A NEW ORDINANCE SINCE A CURRENT ORDINANCE PROHIBITS ANY KIND OF MARIJUANA RELEATED BUSINESS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS.

THE FEBRUARY 6TH COUNCIL MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE VOTING CENTER TO ACCOMMODATE MORE PEOPLE.    THE COUNCIL EXPECTS TO MAKE ITS DECISION AT THEIR SECOND MEETING IN FEBRUARY.
