Hanna is the 21 year old proud daughter of Rocky and Lorell Heckman. Originally from Choteau representing small town ideals, she now calls Great Falls home. She attended Montana State University-Northern majoring in Business Management on a full waiver scholarship for rodeo. However, she has taken this year off of school to pursue her lifelong dream of being Miss Rodeo Montana and working towards the coveted title of Miss Rodeo America. When she doesn’t have her hair curled and the crown on, Hanna enjoys hunting, shopping, bible studies, volunteer work, spending time with family and riding her colt, Champ.

When asked why she wanted to be Miss Rodeo Montana, Hanna says “Since the tender age of seven, I have watched my brother compete as a saddle bronc rider and team roper, and becoming an all-around cowgirl is what I have aimed to do ever since. Consequently, over the past 14 years, I have competed in every women’s event on every level of rodeo including youth, jr. high, high school, college and amateur associations. Spending each weekend at a small town rodeo across this great state has enriched my life with family bonding, true sportsmanship and many life lessons. Rodeo Promotes strong ethics and morals that are consistent with my upbringing and these same values have made me who I am today. Holding the title of Miss Rodeo Montana, the ultimate ambassador for rodeo, empowers me to reciprocate the many benefits of this remarkable sport.”

Hanna believes that we are put on this earth to serve others and she plans on being the bridge between the sponsors, fans and contestants to grow the sport of rodeo. Her hope is that new faces will be seen across the nation on rodeo committees, in the arena and in the stands.
