Montana State Parks honoring all Montana military men and women – You Can Help!
According to a press release from the Montana Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks:
Montana State Parks is offering all military personnel, active or retired a 15% discount at our 8 visitor center gift shops and a 20% discount for tours at the Lewis & Clark Caverns. This offer is good any day during the month of May.
In addition, from May through Labor Day, 17 Montana State Parks will be collecting donations of needed personal supplies for our troops stationed in the Mideast. Specially marked collection bins will be located at various staffed state parks and 8 visitor centers across the state, from Kalispell to Glendive, and from Great Falls to Dillon. Those wishing to make donations can drop off supplies during hours these centers are open to the public.
Along with the donation program, 18 state parks will be provided with Montana State Park postcards. These postcards will be handed out by visitor center staff, rangers or campground hosts to guests and campers willing to thank our troops for their service to our state and country. Montana Supporting Soldiers will collect both the postcards and donations and distribute them to Montana service men and women stationed overseas.
Visitors and campers can learn more about these programs and get directions to the participating state parks and visitor centers by going to fwp.mt.gov or call the Montana State Parks office in Helena at 406-444-3750.
Montana State Parks are accepting donations beginning May 1:
