The State Of Montana’s Still Smoking!
At least 12.40% of our Montana adults. That's according to the latest Smoking Health Index by iSelect. Our Treasure State, scored 43.84, out of 100 on the index. In fact, Montana has been named the 23rd WORST state for smoking in America in 2025. No lectures here, but keep in mind the cigarette tax is a whopping $1.70 per pack these days. A buck seventy for something that goes up in smoke? Come on! BTW, the worst state is Tennessee, following by West Virginia. No surprise here there.
