BOZEMAN – Continuing a 15-year tradition, Montana State University is offering Gold Rush T-shirts ahead of the Sept. 3 football game kicking off the 2022 season.

Bobcat fans can purchase the gold-colored tees, which feature the Bobcat logo set against a backdrop of the Bridger Mountains inlaid within the outline of a football, to showcase their Bobcat pride during this year’s Gold Rush game. MSU will face off at home against Louisiana’s McNeese State University.

Jaime Shanks from Glendive created this year’s winning T-shirt design after a co-worker and MSU alum shared the contest opportunity. Shank’s son, Elliot Kreager, will attend MSU as a freshman this fall.

“My inspiration came as I recalled our visit to MSU during the MSU Friday campus tours,” she said. “When I began the design, I wanted to include the mountains, as they were one of the many favorite things about our visit. I also wanted to capture the elements of Bobcat football through the yard lines and the subtle football outline with bobcat scratches marking the laces.”

“The Gold Rush game is synonymous with Bobcat spirit,” said Amy Kanuch, MSU’s licensing and community relations manager. “The experience unites students, alumni and the community to celebrate MSU’s excellence in the classroom and on the field.”

The limited-edition Gold Rush tees go on sale today. Shirts are $15 and may be purchased at the MSU Bookstore and at Universal Athletic stores in Bozeman, Billings, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell and Missoula. Gold Rush shirts are also available online at msubookstore.org and shop.msubobcats.com.
