MSU Ag Alert: Integrated Pest Management Workshop Set for Nov. 21-22

The MSU Extension IPM Program has announced the 2022 Integrated Pest Management workshop taking place on November 21 and 22, 2022, in the Plant Growth Center at Montana State University in Bozeman.

Uta McKelvy, Extension Field Crop Pathologist, sent out an MSU Ag Alert on Monday, stating that this years’ workshop will focus on “Diagnosing Plant Health Problems.” Participants in the 2-day workshop will learn how to approach plant problem diagnosis, become familiar with symptoms and causes of common plant health problems in Montana, and how to develop successful management plans. Agricultural crops will be the primary focus, but horticultural plants will be considered, as well.

Faculty presentations and hands-on training will be offered,along with tours of diagnostic facilities, and plenty of time for questions and discussions.

Recertification credits will be offered. The workshop is designed to meet the needs of Extension agents, crop consultants, growers, and other industry professionals, but is open to everyone interested in plant health problem diagnosis and IPM.

Registration is open until November 18, 2022. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants. The registration fee is $250 per person and includes all meals and on-campus parking.
