To avoid crowding and to help move-in go as smoothly as possible, students have assigned check-in times throughout the day between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., said James Tobin, associate director of MSU Student Housing. Students and their families have two-hour time slots to move in and will have the help of hundreds of volunteers from MSU and the community to get their items to their rooms.

Students moving in have been provided instructions detailing the routes to their assigned residence halls. Maps of the recommended routes are online at montana.edu/reslife/moving_in.html. Special Move-In parking permits can be downloaded for printing from montana.edu/reslife/move_in_day/f21moveinparking.pdf.

Chancey Ringer, MSU's Parking Services manager, advised those traveling around campus to be aware of the potential for increased traffic due to Move-In and to avoid using Garfield Street to minimize congestion around the North Hedges and South Hedges residence halls. A portion of South 12th Avenue in front of the Hedges buildings, between Grant and Garfield streets, will become a temporary one-way street during Move-In.

Additional information about Move-In is available by calling MSU Student Housing at 406-994-2661, by viewing the Move-In Weekend traffic map or by calling the MSU President's Office at 406-994-2341.

If you would like to volunteer to help move students in during Move-In Weekend, you can register for shifts online. Shifts run a little longer than two hours at a time. For questions, please contact Emma Dyksterhouse in the Office of the President at 406-994-2345 or president@montana.edu.
