BOZEMAN — A dozen Montana State University student-athletes will travel to Casper, Wyoming, next week for the start of the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo. The competition is scheduled for June 9-15 at the Ford Wyoming Center.
The Bobcats won the Big Sky Region title for both men and women this spring.
Seven members of the Bobcat men's team advanced to the CNFR: Monte Bailey (saddle bronc), Cole Gerhardt (bareback, steer wrestling), Wyatt Jensen (tie-down roping), Traver Johnson (steer wrestling), Wes Shaw (bareback, tie-down roping), Bode Spring (tie-down roping), and Jaden Whitman (steer wrestling).
Five Bobcats women also move on to Casper: Meghan McGinley (breakaway roping), Alexis McDonald (barrel racing), Tayla Moeykens (barrel racing, breakaway roping), Breyer Newman (goat tying), and Jessica Stevens (goat tying). Moeykens was the reserve national champion in barrel racing in 2023, while the MSU women’s team placed second overall.
For fans traveling to Casper, tickets are available to purchase through the Ford Wyoming Center website. All-session tickets start at $85, with individual day passes also available starting at $12.
Competition from Jun 11-15 will also be broadcast live on ESPN3 and the ESPN app.
