North Central Montana Flood Watches and Warnings Continue…
As always - the National Weather Service Site is a great source for up to the minute weather advisories. The latest information we have available:
Marias River near Shelby:
The flood warning continues for the Marias River near Shelby until late Sunday night. At 7:30 am Wednesday, the stage was 11.4 feet - flood stage is 9.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. Forecast...the river will continue to remain above flood stage until Thursday.
St Mary River at Babb:
The flood warning continues for the St Mary River at Babb until late tonight. At 8:00 am Wednesday, the stage was 7.4 feet - flood stage is 7.5 feet. Forecast...the river is expected to rise to near flood stage this afternoon.
Sun River at Simms:
The flood warning continues for the Sun River at Simms until further notice. At 7:30 am Wednesday, the stage was 9.5 feet - flood stage is 7.5 feet. Minor flooding is occuring. the river will continue to rise to n ear 10 feet by Thursday. At 10 feet portions of Highway 200 could be closed and many agriculture land and homes could be affected.
Sun River near Vaughn:
The flood warning continues for the Sun River near Vaughn until further notice. At 8:00 am Wednesday, the stage was 6.1 feet - flood stage is 6.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring. Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 7.5 feet by Thursday.
Missouri River near Ulm:
The flood warning continues for the Missouri River near Ulm until Saturday morning. At 8:00 am Wednesday, the stage was 13.4 feet - flood stage is 13.5 feet. Minor flooding is forecast. Forecast...The river should rise above flood stage later today and continue to rise near 14.2 feet by tomorrow, early afternoon.
