WHITLASH, Mont. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations would like to inform travelers the Port of Whitlash will be closed for the remainder of the day, Thursday, Feb. 8, due to hazardous travel conditions.

It is expected the port to remain closed until the current storm has passed, and roads can be plowed.

The Port of Whitlash is located on Whitlash Road, across from the Canadian port of Aden, Alberta, about 35 miles east of the Port of Sweetgrass, Montana.

“We advise travelers planning to enter into the United States through the Port of Whitlash on Friday, Feb. 9, to telephone the port prior to their departure, to ensure the port is open,” stated Daniel Escobedo, Director for the Area Port of Sweetgrass.

CBP apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the port.
