According to a story in the Great Falls Tribune, the Blackfeet Tribe has called off the State of Emergency they recently declared.

The Blackfeet Tribe declared a state of emergency Tuesday, but fortunately the predicted snow system mellowed out. With the help of snowplows from the

Montana Department of Transportation, the reservation was able to clear out its roads Wednesday.

Blackfeet Disaster Coordinator Robert DesRosier said that emergency preparedness staff met again Wednesday and determined that they were out of

the woods for now.

"We had an unusual amount of snow and an unusual amount of high winds this winter," he said. "We've been able to stay ahead of it. We're in pretty good shape

n

ow."

Officials are ready for the worst, bu

t hope they won't need to put a plan into action.
