The day a teen gets his or her own iPhone is usually one of the happiest of their youth. They're finally seen as responsible, semi-independent individuals. However, this 13-year-old, whose mother decided to attach her own 18-point agreement of rules and guidelines in exchange for the phone, might have reason to look for happier days.

I read a lot of articles on the internet and have found some really interesting blogs.  I'm the parent of two teenage girls, well one of them will be 20 soon, but you get the idea.  Today, in my reading I found an article about what really matters (by Lauren Rosenfeld, M.A., M.Ed., Author of Your To Be List) as a parent and wanted to share that with you:

Amy Chua the author of a book titled "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mom" and she's causing quite a stir among American parents.  Time Magazine references many of the "incidents" outlined in her book including one during which she forced her then seven year old daughter to practice a piano piece until she learned to play it.  Right through dinner, with no water or bathroom breaks.
