UM to Host National Native Law Competition, Community Round Dance
The Native American Law Student Association at the University of Montana’s Alexander Blewett III School of Law is hosting the 2024 National NALSA Moot Court Feb. 23-24.
This is the first time this national competition will take place in Montana.
Fifty-one teams from law schools around the nation will compete in this prestigious mock trial competition. This moot court competition simulates an appellate-level proceeding where student teams make arguments to a panel of judges and answer their questions. Judges assess the quality of legal reasoning, oral advocacy and knowledge of case law.
Preliminary rounds will take place Friday, Feb. 23, at the Montana’s Law School. Final rounds will take place in the Payne Family Native American Center on Saturday, Feb. 24.
There will be a chili feed and community round dance in celebration of the competition at 6 p.m. Saturday, in the ALI Auditorium in the Phyllis J. Washington College of Education.
