On this very site, yesterday, I published a post about a planned Veteran's Memorial Park on Main Street in Cut Bank.  Today, the Cut Bank Pioneer Press highlights an event you can participate in to help with the fundraising. Amanda Wineman, a senior at Cut Bank High School will spend Sunday graduating and enjoying one last official evening as a high school student, on Monday morning, bright and early, she'll be helping to raise funds for a worthy cause:

Amanda encourages every-one to wear a plain t-shirt and she will have fabric pens/paints for them to write on their shirts who they will be walking/running for. Her shirt will have the names of her grandfathers and her dad on it and she hopes they will all be here to walk with her.

Anyone who wants to collect sponsorships for their participation are encouraged to do so as well.

Since no public monies will be used for the building of this memorial, fundraisers such as this walk/run and the sale of Tim Curtiss’ CD “Hold onto America the Beautiful” are key to reaching the goal of $150,000. Curtiss’ CDs are for sale for $8 and can be purchased at City Hall.

The registration for the walk/run will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at the intersection of Main and Central in Cement Park. The first walk/run will begin at 9 a.m. and then every 10 minutes the next one will begin.

See the full story from the Pioneer Press. Please get out and support our veterans on Memorial day!  Check in on the Facebook event page to RSVP for the Event.
