Our KSEN/ K96—Bozeman Trophy Male Athlete of the Week had the highest scoring number we’ve seen all year and rebound totals were also out of sight. Our Female Athlete of the Week didn’t have an especially big weekend but here consistency and stats have led the Browning girls to, at this point, an undefeated season.

Our Male Athlete of the Week is 6’6” Sunburst Sr. Conlan Kerfoot.  In a matchup with the 2nd place team in the 10c district, Kerfoot exploded for 36 points on 7, 3-point shots, pulled down 13 rebounds and added 2 assists and 3 steals.  A last second shot did not fall for the Refiners, and they lost a heartbreaking, near upset 61-59 to Cascade, Conlan's 36 points was the 2nd best number in the state behind only Delray Lilley of Poplar who had a 47-point game sat.

Kerfoot was also big in a Sunburst win on Thursday when they handled Dutton/Brady 54-36. Kerfoot scored 19, had 22 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.

Talk about shooting the lights out, Shelby Jr. Randon Richman, also nominated this week, had his 2nd, 30-point game of the season in a win over Conrad.  That number included 7-3pt shots and stellar defense.

Our Female Athlete of the Week didn’t have the biggest weekend of her career against Columbia Falls and Whitefish, but Browning’s head girl’s coach “poor boy” Croff says Sr. Mecca Bullchild has once again the most consistent on the team that has now improved to 12-0 and tops the Western A Division.

Croff noted that a pair of Browning players such as Lish Spoonhunter and Jerel White Grass have really stepped up this year and taken some pressure off Bullchild.  In the big picture, Bullchild is a top two scorer in the Western A with over 16-points a game and she is leading the league in steals.  Croff says she’s in the top 10 in just about every category and plays all phases of the game well.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96—Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Sr. Conlan Kerfoot of Sunburst and Sr. Mecca Bullchild of Browning.  The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our athletes with two free value meals each.
