Athlete of the Week
Our KSEN/K96-- Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week had exceptional weeks in their given sport, but we might note that for these two, exceptional almost becomes normal.
Our Female Athlete of the Week is a key figure for the Conference leading Fairfield Eagles Volleyball team. In matches last week, Jr. setter and outside hitter, Aubrey Schubarth, led the way in wins over Conrad and Chinook. Maybe the most electrifying stat is that she served the first 14 points in the Chinook match and got the Eagles off to a solid start at 14-0. Her combined numbers for the two matches were 34 assists, 27 digs and 5 aces. Head Coach Kari Schubarth tells us Aubrey has now surpassed 1,000 assists in her career at Fairfield, no small accomplishment.
Our male Athlete of the Week probably should have received this award numerous times. He is a State Wrestling Champion, a State Bull Riding Champion, and an outstanding football player for the Browning Indians. Sr. Tahj Wells had a typical game last Fri. night as Browning beat Livingston 41-0. In just half a game, Wells carried the ball 13 times for 145 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He has 7 rushing Td's on the season and 2 punt returns for Touchdowns including a 101 yd return for a Touchdown in Browning's opening game against Corvallis.
Congratulations to our KSEN/K96--Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week, Sr. Tahj Wells of Browning and Jr. Aubrey Schubarth of Fairfield. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored locally by McDonald's in Cut Bank. McDonald's honors our Athlete's with two free value meals each.
