MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS GO TO HEART BUTTE SR. JORDAN CALF LOOKING WHO HAS ALREADY LOCKED-IN A 34 POINT GAME AND LED THE WARRIORS TO 3-STRAIGHT VICTORIES.
HEART BUTTE HEAD COACH KELLEN HALL DESCRIBES CALF LOOKING AS “THE DEADLY LEFTHANDER,” WHO SCORED 19 AGAINST SUNBURST AND 15 AGAINST POWER THIS PAST WEEK AND HAD THE 34 IN THE OPENER AGAINST CASCADE.
THE 6-FOOT SR. IS ALSO PLAYING GREAT DEFENSE, AVERAGING 5 STEALS PER GAME AND RIGHT AROUND 6 REBOUNDS. CALF LOOKING IS ONE OF ONLY 9 PLAYERS ON THE HEART BUTTE TEAM RIGHT NOW. COACH HALL SAYS THEY HAD 11 TURNOUT BUT ONE QUIT AND ONE IS INJURED.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS GO TO CHOTEAU SO. ADA BIELER. THE LADY BULLDOGS ARE OFF TO A 2-0 CONFERENCE START AND BIELER HELPED LIGHT THE FIRE LAST FRI. NIGHT WHERE SHE HIT FOR A CAREER HIGH 27 POINTS THAT INCLUDED 2, 3-POINT SHOTS.
SHE CAME BACK WITH 16 IN A WIN OVER CUT BANK SATURDAY AND HEAD COACH CARISSA JENKINS SAYS SHE’S CREATING A LOT OF OFFENSE FOR THE TEAM WITH DEFENSIVE STOPS. SPEAKING OF DEFENSE, 7 OFFENSIVE AND 7 DEFENSIVE REBOUNDS IN THE TWO GAMES LAST WEEKEND.
SHE ADDED 4 DEFLECTIONS, 4-STEALS AND 3-BLOCKS IN THOSE TWO GAMES. COACH JENKINS SAYS SHE’S A YOUNG PLAYER WHO “IS DRIVEN, LOVES THE GAME……….HAS AN OUTSTANDING WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE AND IS CONSISTENT ABOUT ENCOURAGING TEAMMATES.
WE ALSO HAD NOMINATIONS THIS WEEK FOR CJI JR. TATUM HULL WHO HAD 28 POINTS AND 14 REBOUNDS AGAINST BIG SANDY AND THEN 21 POINTS AGAINST TURNER. AND JR. HANNAH ST. GODDARD WHO HIT FOR 20 IN A WIN OVER SIMMS AND 14 AGAINST AUGUSTA.
