Big Mountain=BIG Deal

I'll be up at the Marias Heritage Center this evening (Tuesday) to read & share more Montana History. We'll be reading & learning about the "beginning" of Big Mountain Ski Resort over in Whitefish. Back in March of 1947, articles of incorporation for the resort were filed with some $70,000 stock authorized. We're about 2/3 of the way through our current read, "Stump Town to Ski Town: the Story of Whitefish, Montana." Hats off along with a real SHOUT out to the authors of this fascinating FUN tome, Betty Schafer & Mable Engelter. I don't think they're aren't around anymore...the book was first published back in the early 70's. That said, Montana history truly comes ALIVE Tuesday nights at 6 up at the Marias Heritage Center in Shelby. Looking forward to seeing you this evening at the Heritage..
