Swan spent his career with the U.S. Forest Service from 1911, to 1947, became a talented photographer renowned for his images of forestry work & wild, wide-open landscapes, & it all comes together with a wonderfully, rich, insightful record of a real forester's life in Region 1-Montana, northern Idaho, & western South Dakota, in Kenneth's breathtaking read, "Splendid Was The Trail," from Farcountry Press.
